Taryn Honored & Performing at Bel Air Film Festival
The second annual Bel Air Film Festival has announced it’s official selection of films to be screened in Bel Air and throughout greater Los Angeles from November 13th-17th. The festival will hold 35 films screenings and 4 red carpet events bringing together the community of Bel Air and entertainment industry. The festival showcases some of the most creative films and filming talent of today bringing industry tastemakers, green-lighters, and film fans all together for this unique festival experience.
“A large portion of the entertainment industry resides in Bel Air and we are proud to support filmmaking and bring the community together,” said Bel Air Film Festival™ President Melody Storm.

A Film Fashion themed red carpet gala will kick off the festival on Friday, November 13th with a special musical performance by “Film Fashion Visionary,” honoree Taryn Manning. The multi-talented Manning will be performing music from her band Boomkat’s latest album A Million Trillion Stars. Known for her acting skills in 8 Mile, Hustle & Flow and more recently her guest appearances on TV series Melrose Place and Sons of Anarchy, Manning is a true triple threat mixing her love for fashion and music with her clothing line, Born Uniqorn. The line expresses her true fashion style and has been widely recognized in the fashion industry by the media and fellow fashionistas. The festival will recognize Vivica A. Fox from Kill Bill, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dancing with the Stars, and one of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful People for her work and dedication in film with their “Best Actress,” award. The Los Angeles Premiere of, Moustachette, a short film about the tale of love, art, and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger featuring Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump and Pete Wentz along with Yellowcard’s Ryan Key will also be screened. This will be followed by the feature film screening of Coco Chanel starring Shirley MacLaine. Coco Chanel is the rags-to-riches tale charting the rise of one of the most influential fashion icons of the 20th century. From her humble childhood in a French orphanage, through her early days as a young dressmaker’s assistant, to her passionate and tragic love with a dashing Englishman, and ultimately to her success as a pioneering icon, “Coco Chanel” is the story of a glamorous woman who was hard to love and harder to ignore.

Meida 8 Acquires “Perfect Age,” More
Media 8 Entertainment has acquired Scott Rosenbaum’s “The Perfect Age of Rock ‘n’ Roll,” a musical starring Kevin Zegers, Jason Ritter, Taryn Manning and Peter Fonda. In addition, the company announced that it has picked up the rights to Scott Teems’ drama “That Evening Sun,” starring Hal Holbrook, Jordan Baker’s psychological thriller “Duress,” and Alejandro González-Padilla’s romantic comedy “Regresa.” All four films will have their market debuts at the American Film Market next month.
“We’ve worked very hard, in what continues to be a difficult climate, to assemble what we feel is our strongest international sales slate to date,” said Media 8 President Stewart Hall in a statement. “We’re excited to head into the AFM…and look forward to the reactions from foreign buyers searching for commercial, high quality films with global appeal.”

“Melrose Place” Episode 3 Synopsis
MELROSE PLACE “Grand” airing Tuesday Sept. 22 at 9/8c on the CW.
Episode Synopsis: MELROSE PLACE “Grand” Episode 3 – Jonah (Michael Rady) is furious when he learns that Riley (Jessica Lucas) hasn’t told her family or friends that she and Jonah are engaged. Upset over their fight, Riley turns to Auggie (Colin Egglesfield) for comfort. Caleb (guest star Victor Webster) reams Ella (Katie Cassidy) after her director bails on a job, so she recruits Jonah to fill in on a Boomkat music video at the last minute. However, the lead singer Kat (guest star Taryn Manning) might be more than Jonah can handle, putting Ella’s job on the line. Meanwhile, David (Shaun Sipos) accuses Michael (Thomas Calabro) of murdering Sydney (Laura Leighton), Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) applies to be on Michael’s team at the hospital, and Violet (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz) continues to make her move on Auggie (Colin Egglesfield). Taryn Manning On Melrose Place
Combining her love for music and acting Taryn Manning will be appearing as herself, a singer/songwriter, in the third episode of The CW’s Melrose Place airing Tuesday, September 22 (9:00/8:00c). She plays a singer whose music video is directed by aspiring filmmaker Jonah (Michael Rady).
Taryn in fact has been in the studio working on material for her upcoming solo album. With only two tracks completed, buzz is already starting to build as “So Talented”, the first song written for the album with producer Linney (Darkchild Entertainment) will be featured within the episode.
Aside from her solo efforts, Taryn is the lead singer of the band Boomkat, with her brother Kellin. The band released their sophomore album A Million Trillion Stars earlier this year and recently released their latest single, “Stomp”, co-written by Mike Elizondo (50 Cent, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Jay Z). – Anti Music
