Taryn talked recently about her movie Perfect Age of Rock n Roll and her career, including her new album.
You play Rose in The Perfect Age of Rock ‘n’ Roll. She has to be pretty tough to manage the band. Is that what you liked about her?
TMI : Rose is the road manager. She’s motivated to get this new music done and sent to the label. The record company’s demanding to know when the album’s coming, and she vows to get it in. She’s the driving force to get the music heard. She’s genuinely invested, and she’s been with them for a long time. That’s why I liked the role — having managers myself, someone who stands by you through thick and thin. I like that about the role. She makes her mistakes, but she’s only human.

“It’s a film about rock and roll and the trials and tribulations of the glamourous–and not-so glamourous–life of being on the road,” says Manning. “It’s cool. it’s all about rock and roll, and the perfect age of rock and roll–that being that magical–and not-so magical–number of 27.”
The film’s title refers to the milestone year that ended the lives of rock legends Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain–and Amy Winehouse.
“I guess it’s a cautionary tale,” Manning says of the film’s “27 Club” premise. “(There’s) not really anything you can do about it if you’re not 27 yet, and you’re in the music industry. It’s nothing to be afraid of–it’s just a really bizarre coincidence that we’ve lost so many great people at that age. What’s ironically timely about it is what just happened with (Amy Winehouse).”

Like many of Britney’s fans and friends, Taryn says she’s thrilled that the ‘Womanizer’ singer has been able to turn things around after going through difficult times a few years ago.
“She’s come a really long way. She’s overcome a lot of adversity, and I’m very proud of her, and so is her family and her management. They stood by her, and now look at her record – it’s huge!”
